Why should I report storm damage?

After a storm or other damaging event, Benton County Emergency Management uses community damage reports to:

  • identify damage to homes, businesses, roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, and other public facilities
  • estimate repair and cleanup costs
  • determine whether the damage may qualify for an official disaster declaration
  • request state or federal recovery assistance

As a result, your report helps us understand the community’s needs, plan recovery efforts, and seek financial assistance.

Who can submit a damage report?

Anyone who lives, owns property, or operates a business in Benton County can submit a damage report. This includes people in cities, unincorporated areas, and rural communities throughout the county.

Every report helps Benton County document the disaster’s total impact and may help the community meet state or federal aid requirements.

If a recent disaster damaged your home, business, or other property, complete the short Damage Report. You may submit a report even if you do not know the total repair cost or think the damage is minor.

Submitting a report does not guarantee financial assistance. However, your information may help Benton County qualify for state or federal recovery aid.
