Jail
Jail
The Benton County Jail is the only jail in the county and must be maintained by Oregon state law. When someone is arrested anywhere in the county – whether by Corvallis, Philomath, Albany, Oregon State University Police, or by our own Patrol Deputies – they are brought to our facility. It is the smallest jail per capita of any county in Oregon. As a result, we must be creative in how we provide for the needs of adults in custody (AIC) while keeping our community safe.
The Oregon Department of Corrections has collaborated with Oregon county jails, Community Corrections, Board of Parole and Probation, and Oregon Youth Authority to enhance public safety by providing Oregon crime victims with the Victim Information System in Oregon (VISOR).
Jail Closure
When the Jail is closed, no new arrestees can be processed.
Early Release
To manage capacity at the Jail, we sometimes have to release adults.
Jail Bed Rentals
The Benton County Jail rents 40 jail beds in other facilities.
