We are looking to hire one full time Patrol Deputy. This position performs law enforcement and crime prevention activities.

Current salary for Patrol Deputies is $67,742.62 – $98,189.70 annually.

What kinds of things does a Patrol Deputy do?

Patrol Deputy tasks include arresting and booking suspects; transporting prisoners; investigating crimes and criminal complaints; providing field service of civil process; and preparing necessary reports.

Am I qualified?

Minimum qualifications:

  • Valid State issued Driver’s License with good driving record
  • 21 years of age at time of hire
  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • US Citizen
  • Complete the ORPAT during hiring process and during Academy
  • Successfully pass a background investigation, psychological examination, and medical evaluation before being hired
  • DPSST Basic Law Enforcement Certification – within 18 months of employment
  • LEDS Certification required within 6 months of hiring
  • First Aid and CPR Certifications within 60 days of hiring.

What’s involved in the selection process?

Once your application is received and reviewed, you’ll be contacted about the rest of the selection process. You must pass the following steps:

  • Initial Criminal History and DMV Screening
  • Written Exam (POST Test)
  • Physical Abilities Test (ORPAT)
  • Personal History Questionnaire
  • Oral Board (interview)
  • Background Investigation
  • Medical Examination
