Corvallis Mountain Rescue Unit

Welcome to the Corvallis Mountain Rescue Unit (CMRU) information page.

Purpose

Corvallis Mountain Rescue Unit offers assistance, without charge, for search and rescue in difficult areas and high-angle terrain. This group of volunteers are highly skilled in mountaineering, trained in the many facets of technical alpine search and rescue, and are available around the clock. CMRU locates, treats, and transports lost or injured individuals. The unit’s trained members and specialized equipment allow them to care for and evacuate individuals from glaciers, high faces, deep canyons, and irregular terrain. They often provide assistance to teams outside of Benton County in difficult to search areas.
