Benton County Sheriff’s Office 2024 School Supply Drive
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) is sponsoring its 15th annual Back to School Supply Drive now through August 29th. The community is invited to take part in this annual event. If you’re interested in donating to the supply drive, backpacks have historically been a large need for students of low-income families returning to school. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Just $30 can provide one student with supplies for an entire year. Other supplies needed include:
- Dry-erase markers
- Three-ring binders
- Wide-ruled paper
- Spiral notebooks
- Scissors
- Index cards
- Composition books
- Pens
- Pencils
- Pencil bags or boxes
- Colored pencils
- Hand sanitizer
- Tissue/Kleenex
- Erasers
- Highlighters
- Crayola Crayons
- Glue and glue sticks
- Rulers
- Folders
- Lunchboxes
- Coats or jackets
- Socks (new)
- Kids underwear (new)
- Backpacks (new or gently used)
- Not accepted: used supplies and books
Supplies gathered will be divided and distributed between five rural schools including Alsea Elementary, Blodgett Elementary, Kings Valley Charter School, Monroe Elementary, and Muddy Creek Charter School, immediately following the event.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to work with the community in supporting our students as they prepare to return to school. This fundraiser is crucial and presents a chance to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life,” said Sheriff Van Arsdall. “We encourage you to assist your Sheriff’s Office in making a contribution for our youngest residents.”
