Parole & Probation Deputy Recruitment
This position provides supervisory and investigative services to individuals recommended for placement under supervision by releasing authorities, e.g., Courts, Board of Parole and Post Prison Supervision, Department of Corrections, local supervisory authority, and the Psychiatric Security Review Board. The position requires day-to-day interaction with justice-involved individuals (JII’s) using basic corrections knowledge and interpersonal communication skills. Parole & Probation Deputies will be required to carry firearms issued by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office in the performance of their duties.

Annual salary range of: $73,270.41 – $106,201.98

Minimum Qualifications
- Valid State issued Driver’s License with good driving record.
- 21 years of age at time of hire.
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred).
- US Citizen.
- Ability to obtain D.P.S.S.T. Basic Certification in Parole and Probation within one year of hire.
- Must successfully obtain certification in First Aid and CPR within 60 days of hiring.
- Must successfully pass Firearms and Defensive Tactics.
- Must successfully obtain LEDS certification within 6 months of hiring.
All qualified candidates must complete the POST written test with a 70% or higher overall score and the ORPAT (Oregon Physical Abilities Test). You may submit previously earned test results (within 1 year for both the ORPAT and the written test).
No experience necessary; we will train. Preference will go towards lateral applicants who are currently Law Enforcement Certified and in good standing with their current/most recent agency.
